SSVG provides users two tools to assist composing Flight Plans of Probes. They are FTA and Optimize Assistant.
(1) FTA
"FTA" comes from Fixed Time Arrival guidance. In SSVG, FTA computes delta-V (magnitude and direction) for an orbit transition that brings the Probe to a targeting point around a targeting celestial object, by two-body orbit, at the specified time.
(2) Optimize Assistant
For the efficiency of the spaceflight, there are two important parameters. The first is the time when we start the flight of the Probe (or the time when we perform an orbit transition), and the second is the flight time of the Probe to the targeting object. Optimize Assistant allows us to try various start time (or orbit transition time) and various flight time. For each case, Optimize Assistant finds a two-body orbit, computes the initial delta-V and the terminal relative velocity of it, and shows all of them to us. We can choose an orbit that is appropriate for our purpose.
